IBM’s marketing and analytics teams tasked us with reimagining two internal tools used daily by 1,000s of marketers worldwide.

PROJECT

IBM worked with our team to design frameworks for their internal analytics reporting tools, collated under the name "Pearl".

Our team designed the iFrame and various value-add features to the Pearl dashboard.

ROLE

As a UX Designer, I designed features including system onboarding, help/guidance, notifications, the feedback form, and search functionality.

PROJECT

IBM was looking for a centralized solution to improve the current campaign planning process for internal teams made up of campaign managers, digital strategists, content specialists, and marketing automation specialists.

After weeks of stakeholder interviews and discovery workshops with SMEs, we created four service maps illustrating the various user goals, systems used, and outputs that are part of campaign planning at IBM.

These service maps served to map out the complex relationships between team members, as well as current state processes, pain points, and opportunities for improvement going into the design of the next iterations of Ruby (in the next 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years).

UX GOALS

I wrote the following UX goals to serve as guiding design principles for the Ruby roadmap:

  • Provide a single source of truth for campaign planning

  • Facilitate transparency and communication among various team roles

  • Reduce errors and duplication with smart automation and defaults

  • Intelligently surface contextual tips/guidance

  • Standardize best practices

  • Enable transparency and necessary customization between worldwide and geo teams

  • Leverage campaign performance to drive recommended optimizations
