PROJECT GOALS
Partner with a Fortune 10 healthcare conglomerate on a digital transformation of their websites, to be scaled across 22 business unit marketing sites over 3+ years. We created a scalable design system, content strategy, and CMS.
CHALLENGE
AmerisourceBergen's family of companies was vast and complex to understand for consumers. Communicating the value proposition of each business unit and how it was integrated within the larger brand framework was a fun challenge.
ROLE
Senior UX/Visual Designer
TIMEFRAME
6 months (my role); account is ongoing for another 2+ years
My primary role: Building + Managing a Design System
I co-designed a modular design system from scratch with our dedicated visual designer on the project as we encountered new content needs.
Over the course of 6 months and the first two sites in the program, I drove the interpretation of each business unit's unique brand story and the process of translating that into design, breaking down our various stakeholder inputs into discrete modules and templates. In addition to designing, I owned the process of defining the use cases for each module and supervised their development into live code and into the CMS.
A selection of modules + templates from AmerisourceBergen.com: Brand Story cards, Event page, Careers page
Onboarding deck
When I was handing off my role on the program, I concepted and authored a 25-page deck summarizing the account for all future team members. A few key slides are included below.
Rules of engagement handbook
I authored 80% of this 40-page handbook, which served to detail the strategic vision; content, design, and development approach; and expected project workflow. This playbook was handed to all AmerisourceBergen business unit product owners on individual sites as "rules of engagement" for what to expect from our collaborative process.
